Let it Go!-Day 8
Some of us think holding on makes us strong, but sometimes it is letting go.
I realized, I only have anxiety when I refuse to let things go. We all have the ability to hold onto things longer than necessary. Holding on to things that cause pressure and thinking about a thing(problem/issue) all the time is idol worship.That opens a door for the enemy, it allows anxiousness to creep in. God did not design us to worry. If you think about a situation, ruminating on it all day long it begins to change your mood and effects your life in a negative way. This small god we create stressing, is not good to us. It is one that destroys and takes our joy away. I don’t know about you but I love my joy and peace, I fight to keep them at the forefront of my life. Currently, most of us have things on our mind that is a cause for distress. How do we deal with it?
Think about them right now. Write it down, then say out Lord, I let it all go. HE THEN CAN SHOW YOU HOW HE’S ALREADY HANDLED IT!
The bible says:
Philippians 4:6-7 New King James Version (NKJV) 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Replace the thoughts that are not giving you peace, with the word of God which will give you rest.
Romans 12:2 KJV 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Give God your heart, which holds all of your dreams, desired, worries, and pleasures He absolutely knows what to do with it.
Psalm 139:23-24 New International Version (NIV)
23 Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.
This week make the choice to let go!
“Letting go is the willingness to change your beliefs in order to bring more peace and joy into your life instead of holding onto beliefs that bring pain and suffering.”
– Hal Tipper
You will find that it is necessary to let things go; simply for the reason that they are heavy. So let them go, let go of them. I tie no weights to my ankles.
